“Police Brutality Must End” – Amnesty International Condemns Omobolanle Raheem’s Murder

Amnesty International has condemned the murder of Omobolanle Raheem, a lawyer, who was allegedly killed by a trigger-happy police officer working out of the Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah, Lagos State.
Amnesty International went ahead to demand justice for the lawyer’s murder, telling The Nigeria Police Force tp prosecute the erring police officers.
They made this known through their official Facebook account on Monday.
“Amnesty International strongly condemns the killing of Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem by a police officer on Christmas day at Ajiwe Ajah Lagos. It is horrifying that police officers who are meant to protect lives take it with impunity.
“The Nigeria Police Force’s announcement of investigation into this tragic incident must lead to justice, and the erring police officers must face prosecution in independent, impartial, public trials. Reckless resort of the police to deadly force is a human rights violation. Police brutality must end.”
