The matter was however adjourned to October 30 for hearing of the motion on notice.

In April, Anyanwu became the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate for the forthcoming November 11 election in Imo.

On Friday, the south-east zonal executive committee of the PDP nominated Udeh-Okoye to replace Anyanwu as the party’s national secretary.

In a communique, the South-East PDP said the unanimous decision was reached at a meeting attended by members across the zone.

Party members in the region argued that it would be a distraction for Anyanwu to assume the roles of national secretary and standard-bearer for the PDP in Imo.

The stakeholders then resolved to forward Udeh-Okoye’s name, who hails from Enugu to the NWC of the party.
