Photos: Nigerian Drug Convict Daniel Enemuo, 5 Others Executed In Indonesia

Nigerian drug convict, Daniel Enemuo and 5 other foreigners from Vietnam, Malawi, Brazil and Netherlands were executed in the early hours of this morning Sunday January 18th for drug offences.

The convicts, who were killed by firing squad, are the first people executed under new President Joko Widodo,who took office in October 2014. He signed off on the executions last month..

Brazil and the Netherlands have since recalled their ambassadors from Indonesia after the country defied their pleas and executed two of their citizens AFP reports. Brazilian Marco Archer Cardoso Moreira, was convicted of smuggling cocaine into Indonesia in 2004. Dutchman Ang Kiem Soei was arrested 8 years ago. Daniel Enemuo, 38, was also arrested in 2004

The others executed in the Boyolali district in central Java were Namaona Denis from Malawi; Indonesian woman, Rani Andriani, and Vietnamese woman Tran Thi Bich Hanh.

  1. The law is clear, death penalty for a person convicted of drug trafficking in Indonesia. This is well known! You cannot pour petrol on your body, then walk very close to fire and expect to walk free! May their souls rest in peace.

  2. The Nigerian man is very wrong to do the drug thing in that country but at the same time our federal government should have tried to make a deal with them so as to save him,USA would have done every thing possible to save their own citizen.federal government is pathetic,SMH!!!

  3. Countries like Netherlands n Brazil try to persuade the Indonesia president to give them Amnesty , but unfortunately the request was turn down all they were executed……ur ambassador to Indonesia must be recall for some discussion
