Rumors circulating have it that Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the President of the defunct Biafran Republic is dead. There have been great concerns over his health and state of being ever since late 2010 around which time he was flown to London, his son debunked the claims at that time but the rumors of his death have begun circulating once more as some media outlets have already reported news of his death and his wikipedia page has been updated to state that he died on 10 August 2011 (aged 77) .
These claims have been refuted by Ojukwu’s family. Okigbo Odumegwu-Ojukwu, one of Ikemba’s children who lives in London said “It is not true that my father died”, also the National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, said that the Ikemba Nnewi is alive. Mr. Nwosu said he had been in touch with Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu who is with her husband in London and the Peter Obi, Governor of Anambra and they did mention anything about Ikemba Nnewi’s demise.
