THE Edo State government has ordered the indefinite suspension of ongoing construction at the new Central Hospital Complex, Benin City, Edo State following the death of the project manager, an Italian, who was killed when the structure collapsed in the early hours of yesterday.
The body of the Italian was brought out of the rubbles of the multi-million naira facility at about 2a.m. yesterday and deposited at the morgue of the Stella Obasanjo Women and Children Hospital, off Sapele Road, Benin City.
Briefing the media yesterday on the incident, Commissioner for Works, Francis Evbomwan said Governor Adams Oshiomhole had ordered full investigation of the incident.
