Following the lift of the ban on the operations of the embattled Dana Airlines in the country, the management of the company have expressed their gratitude to the Federal Government and Nigerians in general, promising to continue to adhere to safety procedures in their flight operations. They also assured that they will soon resume flight operations.
According to statement by the management of Dana Air, “The management and the over 558 staff of Dana Air wish to express our deepest appreciation to the Federal Government over the lifting of the suspension of the airline’s operations with effect from Wednesday, September 5, 2012, following government’s satisfaction with the air-worthiness of the airline after a rigorous technical, operational and financial audit.’’
They also thanked “all Nigerians and our esteemed guests for your prayers since the tragic accident of Sunday, June 3, 2012. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with the families that lost loved ones.’’
A lot of eyebrows have been raises following the lifting of the ban. However, there are still issues of compensations to be paid to the families of the crash victims. But the airline operators have reiterated their commitment to assisting the families of victims of the crash and also fulfilling their obligations to them fully, as stipulated by the law.
