Rapper/actor Bow Wow has been named the new host of BET’s 106 & Park alongside Ms. Mykie from Houston, Texas; Paigion and Shorty Da Prince, from Detroit, Michigan after Terrence J and Rocsi Diaz‘s emotional departure from the music countdown show.
Online video submissions and on-air screen tests were used to evaluate contestants for weeks in a search for new hosts tagged “The Search”. The likes of AJ Calloway, Free and Big Tigger have hosted the show in the past.
“I am very excited to take on this new journey in my career with BET. I’m all about branding myself and not just in music, but in TV and movies,” said Bow Wow. “Everyone always wants to compare me to the Fresh Prince, well now they can call me the Fresh Prince of 106 & Park. Get ready for a whole new world.”
