The horrible and unimaginable things that people will do to satisfy themselves is not only scary but an indication that we’re fast approaching the end of times. Mr. Peters who resides in Jikwoyi, an Abuja suburb, will forever rue the day he brought his younger brother, a 30-year-old man simply identified as Steve to live with him and his family. This is because that move has led to his 14 month old daughter, who is also Steve’s niece, to be defiled.
We gathered that Steve who has been living with his brother, Mr. Peters in Abuja for the past six months while he was search for a job was able to perpetrate the evil deed because his sister-in-law would always leave the baby in his care whenever she goes out.
The victim’s mother said “On that fateful day, I left my baby with her uncle as I usually do when I go to the market to get some things. I got back home, prepared our dinner and fed my baby. After feeding her, I decided to bath her. When I was washing her bottom she cried profusely. I was confused; I didn’t know why she was crying like that.
“When my husband came back, I told him about it and we took her to the hospital where it was confirmed she has been r*ped. Since I know I leave her with her uncle anytime I am going out, I confronted my husband’s younger brother who denied at first. But when the family intervened, he confessed to the act.”
While invoking God’s judgement on Steve, she added that the incident has left a permanent wound in her heart.
Steve on the other hand has refused to comment on the incident. Meanwhile, it was learnt that the case has not been reported to the police as it has been treated as a family matter.
