The charge by Governor Adams Oshiomhole to newly sworn- in Secretary to Edo State Government, SSG, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere to assist in the effort to take the state to the next level has made the SSG ban solidarity visits to his office in order to allow him focus on his new job.
“My focus now is how to assist our Comrade Governor who has already laid the foundation for development so that we all can take the state to the next level,” Ihonvbere said.
Governor Oshiomhole had earlier explained that his reason for appointing someone of Prof Ihonvbere’s calibre as SSG was to help strengthen his cabinet because, according to him, “the task of a second term is more challenging and we need to do more for our people.”
Due to the confidence reposed in him, Ihonvbere who wouldn’t want to disappoint pointed out that he did not want any distraction at this point in time.
“I don’t want courtesy visits, no receptions for now to enable me focus and do my job,” Ihonvbere said.
His counterpart, former House of Representatives member, Patrick Obahiagbon who was appointed Chief of Staff when Prof. Julius Ihonvbere was appointed as SSG, who is an ardent twitter user has however promised his twitter followers he wouldn’t tweet less now that he’s Chief of Staff.
