Man Wants Divorce After Catching Wife On Bed With Best Friend

A 50-year-old man has prayed an Ijanikin Customary Court, Lagos, to dissolve his marriage because he found that his wife had s*x with his best friend in their house.

Narrating the ugly incident, Mr. Abayomi Orioye told the court that she told the wife on the day the act took place that he was going on a tour only to return home unexpectedly and caught his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Orioye having s*x with his best friend.

He added that his wife got pregnant shortly thereafter, but her son did not resemble him.

He therefore urged the court to dissolve the marriage and grant him custody of the children, because he didn’t want to have anything to do with Elizabeth anymore.

The 31-year-old wife didn’t deny the allegation. She however pleaded that the court should not dissolve the marriage as she still loved her husband. She also appealed to the court to help her beg her husband as, according to her, she was ashamed of what she did, and felt guilty, asking her husband to forgive her for the sake of their children.

The court president, Mr. S. K. Hussain, adjourned the case for further hearing.

  1. I wonder whatz wrong with some women. After God has blessed her with a good home, she still goes sleeping around. And now, she is pleading that de marruage be not dissolved with the annoying statement that she still loves her husband. If she truly does, why was she sleeping around. And is it now she remembers she has children? Foolish woman. If she hasnt been caught, thatz how she will continue and still be claiming she luvs her husband. Olosi obinrin.

  2. This is a taboo to the entire women folk. If she wants to have an affair outside her matrominal home must it be the husband’s best friend. With this act don’t you think she has an alterrior motive? However, the Customary Court should go ahead to grant the husband the Divoice Suit he prayed, and give custody of the children to the husband as prayed for.

  3. l disagree with what my bro Lanre dawodu said, go study mk 10v5-9 well divorce in that passage wasn’t encouraged at all and what it means, is that, it wasnt so from the beginning but men choose to bcos of te hardeness of their hearts ie unrepentant and unforgiving hearts. though with the case we have b4 us 1 just have to be very careful on the response he/she gives out bcos he who wears the shoes knows where the shoes pinches. but then let the man not take any decision out side God’s will, if he thinks God will be in support of that let him go ahead.
