Helicopter crash: Nigeria plagued by bloodsucking, relentless demons, says Fani-Kayode

As Nigerians continue to react to Saturday’s tragic helicopter crash, which left Governor Patrick Yakowa, General Andrew Azazi and four others dead, a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has described Nigeria as a federal republic of shattered dreams, plagued by bloodsucking demons.

In a statement last night, Mr. Fani-Kayode said Nigeria has become a geographical location for everything evil, spewing out too many tragedies, blood-letting and blood-spilling. He said the helicopter crash and the recurring air disaster in the country has again shown that the country is plagued by blood-sucking and relentless demons.

Today we have witnessed yet another tragic air crash in our nation with the usual attendant loss of life. This is so sad. There is so much death in this country. So many tears. So much evil. So much sadness and so many tragedies. So many shattered dreams, broken hearts and wounded souls. So much injustice and insensitivity. So much greed and want. So much bloodshed, blood-letting and blood-spilling.

Welcome to Nigeria- the Federal Republic of Sadism, Failure, Inequity, Injustice, Wickedness and Shattered Dreams. A land in which “men of God” do not pray but instead sell the annointing and buy private jets. A country where common decency, kindness and human compassion has no place. A nation in which the rulers pay homage to and make open sacrifices to satan.
A country where ignorance and mediocrity is exalted and in which excellence and knowledge is scorned. A nation in which truth has no place and in which those that tell it are hated and treated with contempt. I weep for my country. May God deliver her from the blood-sucking and relentless demons that plague her.

  1. Our “I am a historian- Student of history” is again at his game. Simply put, Fani-Kayode no longer has an identity. He has lost every credibility. It does appear his walk-in closet is lined with scores of turn-coats. For each situation, he dons the appropriate apparel that suits the occasion.
He has suddenly gone fetish, superstitious or taking recourse to voodooism. The same guy got reworked into a ‘born-again’ in Ghana.Whatever happened to that?
I cannot believe this man reminding us all that Nigeria is a “….. nation in which truth has no place and in which those that tell it are hated and treated with contempt”. Was this the same Fani-Kayode who nearly brought down the skies on Prof. Chinua Achebe who stated certain facts he perceived critical of Chief Awolowo’? Is he now redefining the word “TRUTH”?
People like Femi Fani-Kayode are the real societal malaise. For this kind of folks, words like “TRUTH” mean different things, depending on convenience and circumstance. The man is a comic jack-in-the-box.

    • Mr. zero gravity,
The debate on Professor Achebe’s memoir debate is on-going, and you want to relegate that to category of “past sins” this early. I Think we really have a serious problem in this society. It is like suggesting that crime should not be referenced or punished because they happened several days or months back. And, may be, all detained terrorists, the Farouk Lawans, the Bankoles, the oil subsidy thieves and much more should be let off the hook and congratulated. Or, that the Igbo genocide no longer happened, and, therefore, nobody should be held accountable for the deaths. It happened 40 long years ago, after all (and still happening). Is that what we are saying here, Mr. zero gravity?
