A Florida man has been killed after his pet, a boxer bulldog, jumped into his van and landed on the vehicle’s accelerator killing him on impact.
James Campbell, 68, and Iris Fortner, 56, returned to their Florida Panhandle home in the van and stopped at the driveway. Campbellgot out and stepped behind the vehicle to open the gate, and Fortner opened the driver’s side door to see where he was. That was the moment Fortner’s dog was waiting for as it reportedly jumped in, and landed on the gas pedal in the process.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Fortner tried to stop the van, but Campbell was already trapped underneath it. He was pronounced dead at the scene by officials.
