A 9-year-old girl has reportedly been delivered of a baby in Mexico.
According to the Telegraph, the child, identified as ‘Dafne,’ had a c-section and delivered a 5.7 pound baby at Zoquipan Hospital in Jalisco. The girl’s mother says the father is a 17-year-old boy who has since run away.
“Due to her young age, we don’t know if she is being entirely truthful,” Lino Ginzalez Corona, spokesperson at Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office, said in a press conference. Corona added that authorities are “still open to the possibility of rape or child sex abuse.”
Dafne was 8-years-old when she was impregnated, and is one of 11 other children. Her parents who had to work round the clock to ensure they have enough for their large family were unable to watch her while they worked.
This isn’t the first case of baby mama drama, and it may not be the last if parents don’t start watching their children properly. A 9-year-old Chinese girl allegedly had a baby boy in 2010 while a Colombian girl also gave birth last year. [Huffington Post]
