BPP Slams Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for Submitting Fake Procurement Papers

Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have been slammed by the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) for submitting fake procurement papers to the bureau in their procurement processes.

The Director-General of BPP, Engr Emeka Ezeh, made this known on Monday in Abuja at the opening ceremony of the 2013 Stakeholders Workshop for MDAs held at the State House Auditorium. Warning the MDAs to desist from such act, the BPP boss, who was represented at the event by the Director, Special Procurement, Mr Ayo Aderibigbe, stated that apart from the cancellation of such procurement, the bureau would impose strict sanctions on the affected MDA.

Besides the submission of fake documents, the BPP boss also observed that MDAs were not adhering strictly to procurement plans submitted by them to the BPP at the beginning of each year, thereby disrupting the schedule of the BPP.

The BPP boss then stated further that the challenge of the BPP was to rise against these sharp practices and ensure that the bureau had its ways in the overall interest of the country. He said the BPP was being helped by the zeal of this present administration to fight corruption through ensuring best public procurement practices.
