The latest knocks for Dame Patience Jonathan following her shocking revelation that she underwent series of life threatening surgeries in a German hospital has come from the Human Rights Writers’ Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) which has demanded that President Jonathan should apologise to Nigerians.
It said the apology is necessary over “the serial misleading and confusing of Nigerians with false and muddled -up information by the presidential media team on the whereabouts and status of the wife of the president.”
National coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko and the national media affairs officer Miss. Zainab Yusuf, said in a statement yesterday that the Presidency was in breach of section 22 of the 1999 constitution (as amended) and also relevant sections of the newly signed Freedom of Information Act, 2011.
