At a reception that was organised for the team, where the Nations Cup trophy was officially presented, gave a whopping N25m gift to the squad.

He also gave each member of the team a plot of land in choice areas of Calabar, confirming what he had always said that Calabar is the home of the team.
The Super Eagles will at the weekend face the Harambee stars of Kenya in a World Cup qualifying match.
