The Nigerian jersey unveiled by Guinness Nigeria Plc as part of its strategy to drum up support for the Super Eagles during the 29th Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, has officially been recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the largest jersey in the world.

The jersey which measures an astonishing 294.2ft or 89.67m (length) and 241.3ft or 73.55m (wide) and was part of Guinness’ Fly with the Eagles campaign in support of the reigning African champions, was unveiled at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere, Lagos and the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.

The jersey was signed by over 40,000 fans at the two venues and erases the previous record held at a size of 234ft1in x 259ft 8in. created and displayed in Sukru, San Istanbul Turkey in 2009.
