The Nigeria Football Federation has set up a panel to resolve the controversy over the ownership of Super Eagles’ African Cup of Nations, AFCON hero Sunday Mba. The panel has stated its meeting for Wednesday in Abuja.
There has been wide controversy among several clubs over the ownership of the midfielder who scored arguably the Super Eagles’ most important goals at the AFCON tourney, and officials of two-time CAF Champions League winners Enyimba FC of Aba, Enugu Rangers, Dolphin FC of Port Harcourt and Warri Wolves, and the player himself have been invited by a NFF committee to resolve the ownership issue.
“The committee will sit on Wednesday and we will look at all papers presented by all parties, and be guided by the rules, without fear or favour.
“We will look thoroughly into the matter with the highest sense of responsibility and take just decision, in order for the player to continue his club and national team career with peace of mind and comfort,” Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, NFF’s Director of Competitions said.
