The Kaduna State Police Command on Monday said that it has arrested 18 armed bandits in connection with the bombing of a police station in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.
Some of the suspects are immigrants from some African countries such as Chad, Niger Republic and Cameroun who specialized in stealing cows belonging to Fulani herdsmen.
The state police Commissioner, Olufemi Adenaike who said the suspects were nabbed in their hideouts inside the forest, added that it took the joint efforts of policemen and soldiers to effect the arrests.
He also assured that temporary measures have been put in place to prevent armed robbers from terrorizing the town through the forest.
The commissioner also identified the topography in most local governments of the state as a contributing factor to the incessant killings witnessed in the southern part of the state and added that security agencies are gaining the upper hand in the war against terrorism in the state.
