The Jigawa State command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a gang of six rapists led by a 32-year-old Mamman Bashir who allegedly molested a 12-year-old girl (names withheld) in Maigatari Local Government Area.
This was disclosed in a statement from the NSCDC, weekend, signed by Commander Muhammed Gidado Fari.
According to the statement, the medical report obtained by the command showed that the 12-year-old victim was infected by HIV virus. It was not however revealed how long she might have been living with the virus, or if she might have contacted it while she was molested.
The statement said further that the findings had also revealed that the young girl was molested by more than one person.
The NSCDC commander said the rapists will be arraigned in court today.
