Nigeria’ll Remain United On President Goodluck Jonathan – Minister Of Police Affairs

minister_of_police_affairsThe Police Affairs Minister, Navy Captain Caleb Olubaloade (rtd), has said that Nigeria will remain united under President Goodluck Jonathan despite the wave of insecurity in parts of the country.

Olubolade, who was speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti, at the weekend where he represented the President at the funeral of the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs Funmi Olayinka, expressed hope that the country would emerge unscathed from the security challenges as posed by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

He, however, urged Nigerians to remain united, embrace peace and shun any act of violence capable of tearing the country apart.

While describing the present state of insecurity in the land as a new dimension hitherto never experienced, added: “but whatever reason it is; whether political, economical, internal or external, what is important for us is to rise up and face the challenge.”

Olubolade, also hailed President Jonathan for granting the wish of the people on the need to embrace dialogue in resolving the security challenges with the inauguration of different committees to dialogue with the dreaded sect.

He added, “He (Jonathan) is also a listening President; who has listened to the wish of the people that we must embrace dialogue so that we can find solution to the problems.

“You can see based on the agitation of the people, he set up the committee on arms and other committees to look on how we can bring about peace in the north. So, you will agree with me that our president is a listening president and he is doing the wish of the people.

“What is needed for Nigerians to do now is to embrace peace and shun violence and report insecurity as you detect it in any locality so that security agents will rise up to the occasion and face the challenge.

“I strongly believe that there will be solution at the end of the tunnel because with commitment and with what the president has put in place and what he is still  trying to put in place it will be a thing of the past, what I know is that Nigeria will remain united under Goodluck Jonathan.”
