The agreement between Bayern Leverkusen and Chelsea for the latter to sign Andre Schurrle included a term stipulating Kevin de Bruyne be transfered on loan to the former.
The deal has been under threat since Friday as De Bruyne rejected a move to Bayern Leverkusen in favour of a transfer to Borussia Dortmund.
Rudi Voller, Leverkusen’s sporting director, earlier this week said that Schurrle would not join Chelsea if De Bruyne did not move in the opposite direction.
As part of the transfer which brought Marko Marin from Werder Bremen to Stamford Bridge, De Bruyne- who joined the Blues from Genk- has spent this season on loan at Bremen. The management at Chelsea are not likely to part with the 21- year- old Belgian midfielder anytime soon, hence wished to loan him to Leverkusen to boost the chances of Schurrle moving to Stamford Bridge.
However, the midfielder is against the wish of another loan move to another club, at least not when Dortmund are prepared to pay ÂŁ13 million for the Belgian. Chelsea are keen on Schurrle, but may be tempted by the cash on offer to part ways with De Bruyne. That leaves Andre Schurrle out of the picture.
