According to a recent controversial study conducted by Jean-Denis Rouillon, a male French scientist, it has been claimed that bras ‘are not needed’, and might actually be doing women’s figures more harm than good.
The study also found that wearing a bra did little to relieve back pain and that women could be better off without the underwear staple.
His controversial research concluded that a bra could ‘prevent supporting tissues from growing’, and that breasts might be less likely to sag without one.
I’m an avid supporter of science. But I beg to disagree with Professor Rouillon. Imagining a world without bras is enough to give one nightmares. Allowing women of all sizes to roam around unharnessed will not be in anyone’s interest.
As far as I know, men by reason of their genetic programming prefer to see women without bras, or any clothes at all for that matter. Which is why I hesitate to take advice on underwear from any man.
It goes without saying that bras are not always pleasant to wear. But if we put things away simply because they’re uncomfortable, we would be in big trouble.
It means that there’d be no more wearing of condoms or even clothes for that matter. It means we wouldn’t use medicines anymore or eat vegetables.
My point is that sometimes in life, we have to sacrifice our comfort for the sake of the greater good. So for the sake of the peace of mind and sanity of all humankind, we’d like to keep our bras thank you very much.
It’s a good thing that Professor Rouillon added that women should not get rid of their bras yet as his study only involved a small number of women and the long-term effects of not wearing a bra are unknown.
What Could a Man Possibly Know About the Necessity of Bras?

What one should never do, however, is think he is better than others in any way.
