Speaker of the House of Representatives – Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has said he is undecided on running for president in 2015.
Tambuwal’s name has variously cropped up in discussions concerning likely Presidential aspirants from the North but speaking to VOA Hausa Service in Kano where he attended the state university’s convocation programme in Wudil, the speaker said 2015 is too far for a decision to be announced at this time.
The Kano State University of Technology convocation on Saturday featured the award of an honourary doctorate degree on former Lagos State Governor and key opposition figure, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
“Everything is in the hands of God, the almighty. 2015 is very far. If the time comes, we will make decision in the name of God the almighty,” he said on the presidential elections.
Tambuwal said what he needed now are prayers from Nigerians to keep up with the discharge of his responsibilities in the lower chamber.
He also reacted to some complaints that most National Assembly members are shying away from their responsibilities, saying “these attitudes are things of the past, because I am very sure now members are having good relationship with the people at their various constituencies. Just recently we went round to our 360 constituencies and discussed with our people about constitutional amendment.”
Mr Tambuwal now is the right time, there’s no other right time, try it if you will not go down, fool, lily liver.
