We’re Gaining Upper Hand In War Against Militancy In Nasarawa – Al-Makura

Umaru-Tanko-Al-Makura1Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has vowed to deploy all the machinery within his capacity to restore peace
in the state.

This is even as he expressed delight that the state government was already winning the war of ridding the state of the menace of militancy.

Al-Makura said the priority of his government was to make Nasarawa a home for all in Nigeria; a reason he said accounted for the many sleepless nights holding meetings with leaders of ethnic groups with appeals to them to sheath their swords.

The governor, who regretted the recent incident involving the killing of scores of security personnel in the state, said the incident came at a time the government was making spirited efforts in promoting good governance, peace and progress in the state.

He appealed to the aggrieved groups and individuals in the state to bury the hatchet, assuring that the door of his administration was open to complaints and suggestions aimed at making Nasarawa return to state of absolute peace.
