Cross River State (ACN) has warned the people of the state to be wary of supporting President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election following his comment on the ceding of Bakassi.
The party reacted to the President’s comment on Nigeria’s refusal to appeal the International Court of Justice ruling on the Bakassi peninsula cedin.
In a statement by its chairman, Mr. Hilliard Eta, said Jonathan’s comment was a display of “lackadaisical attitude” on issues affecting the people of the state.
It said, “We have read with consternation and anguish the recent statement credited to President Gooddluck Jonathan regarding the criminal ceding of Bakassi peninsula to the Government of Cameroon.
“How would Jonathan assume any loss or gain to have appealed against an unpopular verdict, which did not only affect the land for which our forebears held in trust for their children and children’s children but also a people bound together by posterity and culture.
