Nigeria Basketball Federation on Monday named fifteen players for the Stankovich continental cup which will be hosted in the two Chinese cities of Lanzhou and Gungzhou.
The basketball continental tournament begins June 26 and ends July 10, 2013. It kick starts the team’s international preparations for this summer’s Afrobasket men championship billed for Cote d’Ivoire by August.
The federation also disclosed that a number of players committed to the national team for the Afrobasket championship have been granted the grace of linking up with the team in July after the Stankovich Cup to enable them utilize the period to either sort out contractual issues, try out with NBA teams or complete their rehab during the period of the tournament.
The team includes: Ben Uzoh, Mike Ihiero, Richard Oruche, Deji Egbeyemi, Stan Okoye, Abubakar Usman, Stanley Gumut, Yahaya Abdul, Ike Diogu, , Solomon Alabi, Olumide Oyedeji, Nkem Ojougboh, Kingsley Oguchi, Kelechi anuna and Ehimen Orukpe.
The team will be co-captained by Ike Diogu and Olumide Oyedeji.
