Two serving police officers, J. Friday and Amina Wilfred set the ball rolling at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Golf Club, Abuja, by winning the first ever golf kitty.
Friday, from the Rhino Golf Club, clinched the men’s best nett ahead of Mohammed Suleiman, while Wilfred edged Stella Kadiri and Betty Idagbue to the women’s prize.
Okezie Ogali and Ann Abimiku won the men and ladies best gross prizes respectively.

At the Golf Tourney held as part of the events marking Nigeria’s Democracy Day, about 100 golfers were present at the Jonathan Golf Club, located at Nigeria Airforce base at the international airport, Abuja.
The 9-hole course which play to 2,423 meters, was commissioned in 2011 and named after Nigeria’s serving president.
