Super eagles coach Stephen Keshi said he was relieved his side ended the match against minnows Tahiti without further injury woes.
African champions Nigeria defeated South Pacific Islanders Tahiti 6-1 in both countries opening match of the Confederations Cup at the Estadio Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horinzonte, Brazil.
And with the likes of Emmanuel Emenike, Victor Moses, Kalu Uche already out, while Lazio midfielder Onazi Ogenyi remains a doubt for the tournament, Keshi was glad there was not a single inclusion to the injury list after Monday’s match.
“There are no (new) injuries to the players, because I’ve already lost four players,” Keshi said.
“With all this journey we’ve been having arriving yesterday (Sunday) morning at four o’clock, I’m just happy there’s no major problems concerning injuries.”
