The Federal Government has advised Nigerians against thinking that the current onslaught against terrorism can be won overnight.
Giving this advice in Abuja while addressing State House correspondents shortly after the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Goodluck Jonathan, Information Minister, Labaran Maku vehemently warned the media against creating the impression that insurgency would disappear overnight.
Although he admitted that significant progress had been made so far in the ongoing fight against terrorism, the security agencies, having achieved some level of success, would continue to review their operational strategies in curbing insurgency.
Also, Mr. Maku reiterated the stance of most Nigerians opposed to same sex marriage, saying the country would submit a formal report to the United Nations (UN) in October on its position on the issue.
He added that a committee, chaired by Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke (SAN), had been raised to prepare the report for submission to the UN.
