A surprise invitation was extended to the lawmakers to meet Mr. Suntai after a group of state legislators threatened to commence the ailing governor’s impeachment. One of the lawmakers who saw Mr. Suntai said the sudden invitation was designed to placate lawmakers.

The delegation of lawmakers was led by the speaker of the Taraba State Assembly, Haruna Tsokwa. Our sources revealed that the legislators met Mr. Suntai who was seated on a couch struggling to speak some words to the delegates. They disclosed that Mr. Suntai did not recognize any of the lawmakers. His speech was characterized as garbled, confused and mostly inaudible, according to one source. He added that, at one point, the brain-injured governor managed to say that one of them was his “big deputy.” The person he referred to then told Mr. Suntai that he was not his deputy.

Our sources added that the bizarre meeting convinced the assembly leadership that Mr. Suntai was incapable of running the state. They retreated to a meeting at the state assembly. The meeting ended and the lawmakers left without addressing the media, the promised to return to the chambers tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the cabal tied to Mr. Suntai that has sought to maneuver the sick governor back in office this evening carried out another charade by swearing in some so-called “newly appointed” government officials in the state. The alleged swearing-in took place at the governor’s dining room without any member of his executive council or security chiefs in attendance. There was no judicial officer in sight to administer the oath

Mr. Suntai was made to seat on one of the chairs and at a point given a paper to read. A witness said it was unclear what he tried to do with the paper, at a point he spoke a few words in Hausa but  for the rest of the event  his voice was inaudible throughout the charade.

  1. Pls those close to the ailing Governor should help him. I mean, at least to live a little longer. It is about time he resigned. He needs secluded rest with his family. If he insists on going back to office that will amount to fast forwarding joining his ancestors. I really sympathize with him. I thank God 4 sparing his life

  2. Dis is progressing from d ridiculous to d bizarre. D amiable Gov should be retired and a very handsome pension and other perks worked out for him and his family. D President, PDP, Taraba House of Assembly should all be involved and d matter should be treated more compassionately than constitutionally pse.

  3. I advise the family to take the ailling governor to a psychiatric hospital to continue his medication while the deputy should continue on acting capacity.I do not support impeaching the ailling governor as this incident is clearly understood now that he’s still not in his good senses to take over the mantle of leadership of the state and this can not be left in the hand of the wife and some few cabals instead the family should concentrate on how the ailling governor would regain his brainleess status as the incident is an act of GOD.There’s nothing impossible with Allah. The condition of Danbaba Suntai now is prayers and continues medication.People should stop causing confusion because it will lead to anachy in the administration of governance of the state while the consequencies will be grave by affecting the innocent citizens of the state and the country at large. It is hightime our leaders should intervain on sensitive issues like this. The federal government is battling and strugling to resolve and stampedout the problem in the northeast region of maiduguri.yobe and the rest of them so why creating more tension therein again. If our leaders are to some extent showcase their level of honesty and sincerity the followership will obey the laid down rules and regulations of the land but in situations like this federal government should not foldup its arms or turnoff its deaf ears as this is capable of trauncating our fragile democracy.it might also led to chaos, mistrust, confusion and above all instability.pls i request that Sahara reporters should patriotically brought this to the notice of the federal government and the public for debate.

  4. The family of d suntai should take dis man for proper treatment, if dis governor should die, d vice will become d governor, dis is what yara’dua’s wife and d so called cabal’s did, by bringing d poor man back when he has not fully recovered, just to prevent jonathan fron being d president, after everything yar’adua died and jonathan entered as president. D wife of d suntai should take a stand before they kill her husband for her, it is better for her husband to have his full treatment than she d 1st lady to be a widow. Thanks and God heal ur husband. Amen

  5. My friends, we must know that a good percentage of Governance and Administrative position (s) in Taraba, is occupied by PDP.
Note; No PDP, no Suntai, no most of the state legislators and others elected on PDP platform.
PDP Leadership can not be left uninvolved.
I think Kabiru is really right. He should not be misunderstood.
