In what could only be a pointer to the porous security nature of some of the country’s airports, a teenage boy, whose identity is yet to be established, earlier today stowed away, allegedly in the landing-gear bay of an Arik Aircraft from Benin to Lagos.
According to Vanguard, the Aircraft with registration number, 5N-MJG Flight 44, departed the Benin Airport at 9am for Lagos with top officials of the Edo state government on board the flight.
However, upon landing in Lagos, passengers aboard the airline were surprised when security agents found the teenager at the Airport with no clear explanation as to how he got there.
It is suspected that he may have smuggled himself into the Benin Airport via the Akenzua road axis where there is no secured perimeter fencing of the Airport there.
