Everton have denied reports that Manchester United new signing Marouaine Fellaini coughed out £4m of the transfer fee to ensure the move to reunite with his former manager David Moyes goes through.
A United Kingdom news tabloid, The Telegraph, suggest that the 25-year-old Belgium international agreed to forego a sizeable loyalty payment to force through his dream move to Old Trafford.
But Everton’s director of communications Alan Myers has tweeted that:
For those asking: No Felli did not pay £4m of the transfer fee! The buying club will pay 27.5m.
Fellaini, who will wear the number 31 shirt at the Premier League champions, signed for a reported £27.5m.
United manager, Moyes, will reveal if the Belgian, currently on international duty with the national team against Scotland, features in the Week 4 match against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on September 14.
