FG Calls On Nigerians To Reflect On “Giant Strides” Under Jonathan Administration As Oct. 1 Is Declared Public Holiday

FGNTuesday, October 1, 2013, has been declared as a public holiday by the Federal Government to commemorate Nigeria’s 53rd independence anniversary.

Minister of Interior, Abba Moro made the announcement on Monday in Abuja.

The minister, who congratulated all Nigerians at home and abroad, urged them to build a more united and virile nation that would be the pride of all Nigerians wherever they live.

Moro called on all Nigerians to use the period of the public holiday to reflect on “the giant strides made by government in the development of the country, especially under the leadership of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.”

The Minister on behalf of the Federal Government wished all Nigerians a happy Independence holiday celebration.
