Fiba Africa Includes Olayinka Famogbiyele in the List of 21 Officials for the 2013 Women’s Afrobasket.

FIBA Africa, the basketball governing body in charge of the continent have released list of sixteen referees and three match commissioners ahead of the 23rd Women’s Afrobasket, billed for Maputo, Mozambique from September 20 till 29.

The sixteen referees are made up of four neutral referees and twelve accompanying referees. The four neutral referees are Elena Chernova (Russia); Elif Inci (Tunisia); Chahinaz Bousseta (Morocco) and Tonton Banza Kalume (Democratic Republic of Congo).

The twelve accompanying referees drawn from each of the twelve participating countries includes Artur Bandeira De Castro (Mozambique); Fernando Godinho Pachecho (Angola); Aissatou Diagne (Senegal); Youssouf Maiga (Mali); Laurie Meboung (Cameroon); Sameh Estafanous (Egypt); Nagede Zouzou (Cote d’Ivoire), Olayinka Famogbiyele (Nigeria); Nadjet Zenagui (Algeria); Sammy Wakaba (Kenya); Joyce Muchenu (Zimbabwe) and Paulo Martinho (Cape Verde).

The three match commissioners are Justine Irung (Democratic Republic of Congo); Hassan Shazly (Egypt) and Camillo Ussene (Mozambique).

Julien Farran serves as Technical Delegate for the duration of the competition while the trio of Karim Zulfikar (Tanzania); Dr. Aboubacar Gueye (Guinea) and Arnaud Sevaux (France) maintains the position of Supervisors for Referees.

The Medical and Statistic Department of the championship with FIBA Africa Secretariat communication department staff, headed by Lamine Badiane, will oversee the general information flow and management of the competition.

This is the second time the Afrobasket for women will be hosted by Mozambique in ten years following the successful hosting of the 18th edition won by Nigeria.

Twelve top African nations, such as Angola and African champions Senegal, will feature at this year’s championships.
