Super Eagles Team B lost 1-0 to Jordan in an international friendly match on Monday in Amman.
The hosts’ skipper Hatem Aquel scored a first-half penalty to put the game beyond the home-based Eagles at the Amman International Stadium.
Nigeria failed to pull the one-goal arrears back in the second-half, after an uneventful first period, because of lack of precision and their inability to open up their opponents’ defence.
Christian Obiazor blasted wide a shot from 35 yards in the 22nd minute to give the visitors their first attempt at goal before Uggona Uzochukwu’s effort from an Oghenekakro Etebo free-kick inside the six yard was kept out by Jordan goalkeeper.
Nigeria were one goal down three minutes to the break when Rabiu Ali was adjudged to have pushed down Yousef Rawashdeh in the 18-yard box for the referee to award a penalty, which Aquel converted.
Jordan kept possession of the ball for most of the second-half, while the Nigerians were reduced to shooting wide at goal.
They almost increased the tally in the 78th minute only for a free header to hit the cross bar.
