G-7 Governors Are Dictators, Ingrates – Tukur

Bamanga-Tukur2The National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has assured that the ruling party will no longer tolerate imposition of candidates for any elective office just as he blasted the G-7 governors for refusing to submit themselves to party supremacy.

Tukur, who stated this yesterday at his residence in Yola, the Adamawa State capital while speaking with journalists, vowed to see through his 12-point reformation agenda which he suggested was making the aggrieved governors uncomfortable because it was a challenge to their desire to entrench a culture of impunity and imposition of candidates.

He accused the G-7 governors, which includes Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Aliyu Wammkko (Sokoto), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Sule Lamido (Jigawa) and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) of scheming to pocket the party in their respective states with a view to single-handedly picking party candidates for the 2015 general.

Tukur, who stated that he would apologize if he is found guilty of any wrongdoing in the process of entrenching the rule of law and restoring sanity and peace to PDP, accused the aggrieved governors of stalling ongoing reconciliation talks and wondered why they could repay the party that brought them to power with ingratitude.

“I am totally at a loss at the activities of these aggrieved governors who are occupying their exalted positions under the party, but felt no qualms about denigrating the party at will. These governors contested and won elections under it, but seem to forget all that, because they have an axe to grind, which is unfortunate.

“Those that are crying wolf over my reform agenda do not want change as they are averse to positive reforms being rooted in the party, because they know it will stop being business as usual for them,” he said.

The PDP chairman added that “Honestly, people should ask the seven aggrieved governors when last they conducted stakeholders meeting of the party in their respective states. Their leadership style is dictatorial because they have personalized the PDP as their private property”.
