Former Minister of Interior, Captain Emmanuel Ihenacho, has accused agents of Imo State Government of demolishing people’s property without following due process.

Speaking, yesterday, in Amuzi, Dim-Na-Nume, Nwanele local council area of the state, Ihenacho, however, denied that any of his property was affected in the on-going demolitions.

“The proper way of doing things ought to be followed before any person’s property is knocked down. Notices must be given to property owners. If properties are demolished, there ought to be compensation paid to rightful owners,” Ihenacho said.

Captain Ihenacho argued that if there was need for the acquisition of anybody’s property for the common good of the citizenry, there were processes that must be followed.

“You have to notify such a property owner and tell him why it is being done. You have to make arrangement to compensate whosoever will be affected by the demolition or acquisition,” Ihenacho said.

Speaking on the chances of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, reclaiming the Government House, Owerri, Captain Ihenacho said the party had a good chance of actualizing it.

“PDP has a great structure and tradition. We are fully on ground. There is a very good chance of our reclaiming the Government House. We are all working very hard towards this goal”, he added.
