Mourinho Walks Out of Chelsea News Conference in Bucharest.

Jose Mourinho ended a press conference abruptly in Bucharest after becoming irritated with questions from the media.
Kevin de Bruyne who returned to Chelsea after loan spells in Germany has not travelled with ‘The Blues’ to the Romanian capital and the media seem to have asked too many questions at a time they sort to know the whereabouts of the 22-year-old midfielder who has been told to train with the U-21 reserves.

Mourinho has had enough with the club’s fans, calling for Mata in the starting lineup though he seems to now have envisioned the prospect of the Spaniard and must have wondered if the press was putting his expertise to test.

“This is fantastic because nobody has asked me about Mata,” Mourinho replied. “You are for three weeks speaking about Mata, and now you are speaking about Kevin de Bruyne.”

Mata look set for his first Champions League start against Steaua Bucharest on Tuesday but De Bruyne has been left behind because he has not impressed.

Revered by the Stamford Bridge faithful, he was named Chelsea’s player of the season in double successions, but has started two of the club’s six Premier League matches under Mourinho this term.

Fellow midfielder De Bruyne featured in the 2-0 League Cup win at Swindon a week ago and failed to make the trip to White Hart Lane in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

Injured midfielder Eden Hazard will miss Tuesday’s Group E clash, while striker Fernando Torres is included despite facing a domestic ban following his sending off during Saturdays 1-1 draw at Tottenham.

The boss was unhappy with the De Bruyne question and chose to walk out of the news conference.

“So you are not interested in the players that are playing? You are interested in the players that are not playing.

“He was not selected. It was my decision. Only 11 can play and 18 can be selected. I try to decide by what they do on the pitch when they play and what they do in training.

“I make mistakes, but I try to be honest with Juan and say that he’s going to play Tuesday, because of what he did in training and because of what he did in the matches he played.

“With Kevin, he’s not been selected because I didn’t like the match he played against Swindon and I didn’t like the way he was training,” Mourinho added.

“But you have this tendency to only ask about the guys that are not selected. See you Tuesday.”
