Novak Djokovic fought back from a set down to move into the semi-finals of the Shanghai Rolex Masters on Thursday.
The defending champion saw off Frenchman and Roger Federer conqueror Gael Monfils 6-7 (6-4), 6-2, 6-4 in two hours and 23 minutes.
The Serb lost his first set in China this year by conceding a tightly contested first set to the impressive Monfils.
Djokovic then cruised through the second set with Monfils taking a break to receive treatment on an injury.
While Djokovic had a match point at 5-3 in the decider, Monfils managed to hold serve, but it was the world number two who, by doing the same to love, saw out the match.
Djokovic will face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who edged closer to the ATP World Tour by beating Germany’s Florian Mayer 6-2, 6-3 to reach the last four.
Elsewhere, Juan-Martin del Potro of Argentina defeated Spain’s Nicolas Almagro 6-3, 6-3. Del Potro will face top seed Rafael Nadal, after the Spaniard beat Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6 (12-10), 6-1 to reach the semi-finals.
