An Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered the remand of one Musa Damina, 29, in prison for stealing a cow, valued at N150,000
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Augustine Ozimini, told the court that the offence was committed on Nov. 11 at about 4 a.m. at the Rounder Cattle Market in Abeokuta.
He said that the accused was arrested with a white cow, suspected to belong to one Idris Jimoh, who had lodged a complaint that one of his cows was missing
“The accused went to the cattle market around 4 a.m and stole a cow, he was sighted by one of the cattle rearers, who accosted him and raised alarm,” he said.
Ozimini said that the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Law of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused of Irekari Street, Rounder, off Ayetoro, pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing.
The Magistrate, Mr Emmanuel Adekunte, ordered that the accused should be remanded in the Oba Prison, near Abeokuta.
He adjourned the case to Nov. 25 for sentence. (NAN)
