“We hope that whatever you have been doing very well you will even do more.

“We wish you success in your career.

“I thank the service chiefs for finding time to be here in this ceremony.

“You are a privileged colonel; otherwise, they would not be here.

“Today, we are thankful to God that Adegbe has now moved from Lt.-Col. to full Colonel”.

Speaking with State House correspondents at the end of the ceremony, Adegbe thanked God for the opportunity and the promotion.

“Promotion comes from God alone and this has not been because I deserve it but because God who shows mercy and grace has allowed it to happen”, he said.

He thanked the president for personally taking charge of the decoration.

Adegbe also thanked the service chiefs, ministers, chief of staff, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the National Security Adviser for attending the ceremony.

He appreciated his wife whom he said had been there for him. (NAN)
