Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide, Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory has denied claims that she was planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The minister, whose husband, Hon. Ahman Pategi was one of the 37 members of the House of Representatives that recently defected to All Progressives Congress, APC, also maintained that her father, Chief Richard Akinjide (SAN), was not contemplating leaving the ruling party.
The rumor that Mrs. Akinjide was dumping the PDP for APC was rife in Ibadan, Oyo State but in a statement issued on Thursday, the minister ascribed the rumor to the handiwork of her political detractors.
“I will never leave the PDP. The Akinjide family dynasty is loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda and the success of the party in the 2015 elections.
“My father is a founding member of the PDP and I am the arrow head of the PDP in Oyo state as the minister in an opposition state”, she said.
