Delta State female basketball team claimed victory at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG) in Abuja on Wednesday.
They claimed a comfortable 72-22 win over Abia State following their semi-final win over Taraba.
The triumph does not come as a surprise to Delta State team coach, Gbugbemi Fregene.

“I was not surprised that we won this match because we had adequate preparations for the Games,” the coach said.
“We had a good training ground and our welfare was well taken care of, so we had no other option than to win.”
In the third-place match, Taraba State walked-over Benue State after the latter could not present a complete basketball team of at least five players.
