Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been voted the best player in the French Ligue One for the month of November.
The 31-year-old, who has conceded just three times in the club’s 17 league games this season, beat Paris St-Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the prize. He was also named winner of the UNFP award, set aside for the league’s best performer, for the month of October.
He claimed 59% of the votes ahead of Ibrahimovic, who nicked 32% of it to finish second place and Olympique de Marseille’s Florian Thauvin- a distant third with 9% of the votes.
Enyeama and Swedish superstar, Ibrahimovic, will come face-to-face in direct competition when PSG hosts LOSC Lille at the Parc de Princes on Sunday.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper picked up the award for the second successive month despite narrowly failing to break Bordeaux’s Gaetan Huard’s long-standing record of clean sheets in Ligue One after conceding an own-goal.
