Chelsea bounced back from last weekend’s loss at the Britannia Stadium to beat Crystal Palace and move within two points of leaders Arsenal on Saturday.
Fernando Torres tapped in to put the ‘Blues’ in the ascendancy at Stamford Bridge after Willian’s shot rebounded off a post.
Morocco international, Marouane Chamakh, leveled for the visitors a minute to the half-hour mark, volleying from a Joel Ward cross before Ramires curled Chelsea back in front six minutes later.
Chelsea goalie Petr Cech made a string of second-half saves as they held on to victory. He denied Jason Puncheon, Damien Delaney and, crucially, Stuart O’Keefe.
Everton 4-1 Fulham
Everton moved back into the top four with a resilient victory over Fulham. Their victory over Fulham took them above neighbours Liverpool and into the Champions League spots ahead of the Reds’ match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Leon Osman opened scoring for the Toffees on 18 minutes as the hosts dominated most of the first-half.
Fulham improved after the interval and Dimitar Berbatov drew level for the visitors on 67 minutes from the penalty spot after Gareth barry fouled Alex Kacaniklic.
Everton then had to dig deep for victory as Seamus Coleman tucked in Steven Pienaar’s crossbefore Barry scored a header and Kevin Mirallas grabbed an unjury-time fourth goal.
