Yero Swears In New Commissioners

Kaduna State Governor Ramalan Yero

Governor Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State on Thursday swore-in 24 new commissioners following their confirmation by the State House of Assembly.

It would be recalled that Gov. Yero dissolved the State Executive Council which he inherited from the era of late Governor Patrick Yakowa, who died in a helicopter crash on December 14 last year, about three months ago.

The new commissioners who were assigned their respective portfolios include: Bashir Zubairu (Youth and Sports), Madami Garba Madami (Economic Planning), Abdulrashid Kakangi (Culture and Tourism), Bashir Aliyu Zangon Aya (Works and Transport), Hussaini Abdu (Special Duties, Inter-governmental), Dr. Thot Joseph Dogo (Health), Ado Dogo Audu(Water Resources), David Audu Chat Jok (Science and Technology), Shehu Ahmed Giant (Local Government) and Ibrahim Ali (Education).

Others are Abdulrahman Ibrahim Jere (Special Duties, Poverty Alleviation), Dr. Yari Peter Everton (Special Duties), Isaac Bodam (Agriculture), Umar A. Sani (Special Duties), Nasiru Aliyu Damau (Chieftaincy Affairs), Abdullahi S. Ahmed (Rural and Community Development), Joshua Shekarau Uchissa (Commerce and Industries), Samaila Aliyu (Finance), Kasimu Lawal Abubakar (Environment), Mrs. Comfort Amwe (Women Affairs), Garba Uba Shehu (Justice), Mrs. Grace Nju Nyan (Special Duties), Ben Boko (Information) as well as Abdulsalam Baba Ahmed (Land and Survey).
