The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, on Tuesday called on Nigerian women to use their natural endowments to be agents of stability and progress in their respective communities.
She made the call in Abuja in a goodwill message to the Muslim faithful to commemorate Eid-El-Maulud – the birthday of Prophet Mohammed.
The message was signed by the Director of Information in the Presidency, Mrs Ayotunde Adesugba, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The first lady said that women had God-given talents to be agents of peace and positive change.
She appealed to them to use the talents for societal development.
”I urge you to intensify prayers for your families as well as for the peace and development of the nation”.
She urged Muslim women to seize the opportunity of the celebration to re-dedicate themselves selfless service, tolerance, good neighbourliness and justice as propagated by Mohammed. (NAN)
