Reverend Sister Gives Birth To Baby Boy In Italy

A Salvadorean nun who said she had no idea she was pregnant gave birth in Italy this week after she felt stomach cramps in her convent and was rushed to hospital, Italian media reported on Friday.

The 31-year-old mother and her baby boy, who weighs 3.5 kilograms (7.7 pounds), are doing well and other new mothers in Rieti hospital have begun collecting clothes and donations for her, the reports said.

“I did not know I was pregnant. I only felt a stomach pain,” the nun was quoted as saying at the hospital, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.

La Repubblica said she gave birth on Wednesday.

ANSA said the nun had named her baby Francesco (Francis) — also the pope’s chosen title and one of the most popular names in Italy, where St Francis of Assisi is the much-loved national patron saint.

The hospital could not be reached for comment.

The nun belongs to the “Little Disciples of Jesus” convent in Campomoro near Rieti, which manages an old people’s home and reports said she would keep the baby.

Her fellow nuns were quoted saying they were “very surprised”.

    no wonder if u go to motherless babies home to adopt a child they will ask u “do u need holy child or unholy one”. in that case “holy one” are given birth by nuns and that is why they are call HOLY CHILD.

Numbers 23:8 says, How shall I curse whom God hath not cursed? Or how shall I defy(condemn) whom the Lord hath not defied(condemned). James 4:12 says, There is one lawgiver(Judge), who is able to save and to destroy; who art thou that judgest(condemn) another? James 1:5 says, if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God. You have no idea if she was defied or not, so please use the critique time to pray for mercy grace upon her instead of casting stones. Also, Instead of attacking Bro.       on her to state clearly how she got pregnant. And the Catholic Church should also make
      a statement by stating the position of the church. This executive silence on the part of the
      nun and the Catholic Church is not healthy for the Christian church world wide.

  31. i have read the comments made here and i thank God for who he is.may my words here please the Father IJN. first, if the story is true, the sister being pregnant is not the best,we all know. however, the Lord Jesus didn’t condemn the prostitute, but advised her to go and sin no more…and that is my advice to her too. That is,if she is not a hermaphrodite, or abuse victim. then the issue of the true church stuff here. Jesus, the head of the church, said no one comes to the Father EXCEPT thru or by Him. so no Mary in the picture. humans will worship anything they can imagine….animals, images, objects, trees, cosmic phenomenon (eg sun), just name it. Mary never accorded any special reference to herself so i don’t know where the Catholics got that dogma from. Catholics are very wonderful people,don’t get me wrong. but truthfully, they are worshiping the creatures instead of the creator Himself. a lot of false dogmas and doctrines flew around in the times of our Lord Jesus,but the Covenant children that ran after Asherah and other gods were divine dealt with when they proved stiff-necked and unrepentant. asking departed saints and angels to pray for you is anti-scriptural. i admit that there are other bodies having their own ‘wrong’ doctrines so it is not synonymous with Catholicism. the true church is the individual or people who live according to the WORD of God, not ‘church’ doctrines and dogmas not founded on the word of God (see 1tim 2:15). now the judgment of the shepherds is the Lord’s right. we cant just judge people. but in analyzing issues the bible says we should judge with righteous judgment. again,the yardstick with which we judge,will be used to judge us, so we ought to be careful and merciful so as to obtain mercy. nevertheless, scolding the sister is not a crime,if it is done in love to save her soul…(remember,spare the rod and spoil the child). finally, in commenting, insulting others and having a holier than thou attitude is totally immature at best (see the book of Jude). the Lord bless you all and help us to be faithful in His calling…cos its not easy,its by His grace,not by desire or good intentions or works can anyone be faithful and true.
