Hon. Kennedy Ogba has been kidnapped by four gunmen at his Nsuruakpa residence in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State.
Ogba, who is the immediate elder brother of Mrs Eunice Ukamaka Egwu, wife of former governor of the state, was member representing Ohaukwu South in the state House of Assembly (2003-2007) and former Chairman of Ohaukwu LGA.
Ogba was kidnapped around 5 pm after returning from a burial ceremony.
According to a Vanguard source, the kidnappers entered Ogba’s compound in a civil manner, accosted their victim when he was about entering his house and, before anybody could realize what was happening, they (kidnappers) took him away with family members cell phones so that they would not immediately make any contacts.
Confirming the incident, Chairman, Ohaukwu local government, Mrs Chinyere Elom disclosed that the police were helping them to track down the kidnappers.
She stated that the kidnappers had established contact with the family with an unknown number, adding that the victim’s number had remained switched off since he was kidnapped.
The Eboyi State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Chris Anyanwu, however told newsmen he was yet to receive official report about the incident.
